Enterprising Horne Park Golf in South Godstone, Surrey was the venue last Monday for ladies with little or no golf experience to give the game a try.

35 ladies enjoyed a free morning of instruction and hands-on tuition from professionals at Horne Park, thanks to the generous support and sponsorship of BCC One World Real Estate.

Neil Burke, Director of Golf at Horne Park sees events like this as the way forward to encouraging new, younger ladies to the game who might otherwise be discouraged or intimidated to play.

Mike Yorke who runs the Mike Yorke Golf Academy at Horne Park organised the morning with coaching on stance, grip, swing, chipping and putting. Fun competitions were included for ‘nearest the pin’ and most improved player. Mike Yorke said, “I was delighted with the turn-out and the high standard achieved in such a short time. Hopefully many of the ladies will seriously consider taking up the sport.”

Beatriz Crawford-Carse, Chief Executive of BCC One World Real Estate who sponsored the event enthused, “It has been a tremendous morning and I hope it has encouraged some of the ladies to play golf. Since I started to play here at Horne Park two years ago, I was hooked and cannot imagine not playing this fantastic game.”

Horne Park will be holding its second Ladies Pro-Am on 7 September sponsored again by BCC One World Real Estate.
